The 45 year reunion is now a part of
the history listed above. The party's over and what a party it was! I probably say
this every 5 years, but this was the best one yet. The festivities started at 6:00
PM with an hour devoted to signing in, shaking hands, and a lot of bear hugs. Anna Britton
then asked everyone to be seated and Lester Brooks gave the invocation. A great dinner was
then served by Rexroat's of Effingham. Following dinner, a group photo was taken by Tim Brooks
(Lester's son). Mike Barkley was then introduced as M.C. for the evening and a short
candle lighting ceremony was held in remembrance of our sixteen deceased classmates.
Mike then introduced several who were attending their first fifty-sixer reunion. They
all agreed that they were having a great time renewing old friendships and getting reacquainted.
A DJ furnished us with some of that great old 50's music and the rest of the evening was spent
dancing and taking a few short walks down memory lane.
Our thanks to the committee, Anna britton, Barbara Mulvey, Donna McCrillis, Lester Brooks, and
Jim Spraggins for a great celebration.
